The Weekly Check-Up · 10/4/26: Weekly Checkup

On Sunday, October 4th, The Weekly Check-Up Atlanta is joined by Dr. Stan Sonu, Medical Director for Child Advocacy at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We’re discussing a new program called “Beat The Big 4,” a multi-faceted, five-year initiative to address the state’s top four fatal threats to youth: unsafe sleep, drowning, car crashes, and firearms.

Dr. Stan Sonu, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician specializing in general pediatrics, public health, and preventive medicine at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (Hughes Spalding Primary Care Clinic). He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, completed his pediatric residency at Rush University Children’s Hospital, and completed a fellowship at Cook County Hospital.
