Joining us this Sunday on The Weekly Check-Up were The Village Vets and Pain Solutions Treatment Centers. The Village Vets joined us in the first hour for a discussion on pet health, preparation for colder months, and featured questions from The Weekly Check-Up website. In the second half, a panel of pain management experts of Pain Solutions Treatment Centers joined us to talk about cutting edge alternatives to surgery in pain relief.

Dr. Will Draper of The Village Vets

A native of Inglewood, California, Dr. Will Draper graduated from Tuskegee University in 1991 with his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 1992, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and started The Village Vets in 2000.

Dr. Will serves as an expert in WebMD’s Pet Health Community and is the featured veterinarian on WebMD’s series, “Ask the Veterinarian.” Atlanta magazine honored him as one of “Atlanta’s Best Vets,” as well as a FIVE STAR Veterinarian. He also had his own radio show, “Critter Chatter,” which aired on 92.9 Dave FM’s Morning Show with Mara Davis.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association and is a member of the Hill’s Pet Food Veterinary Advisory Board.


Dr. Stacy Stacy of The Village Vets

Stacy Stacy

Dr. Stacy grew up in Stockbridge, Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2003 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She has special interests in internal medicine, cruciate repair, and infectious diseases.

She has also been honored by Atlanta magazine as one of “Atlanta’s Best Vets” and a FIVE STAR Veterinarian. Only 7% of the veterinarians in metro Atlanta are awarded with the latter honor.




Dr. Thomas Hurd of Pain Solutions Treatment Centers

After graduating from Northwestern University, Dr. Hurd completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California and the University of Florida respectively.

He is board certified in anesthesiology, pain medicine, and critical care medicine. He also studied acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine in Beijing and Chengdu, China.

He served as the President of Medical Staff, as well as a Chairman of Anesthesiology at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He is a member of several professional associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Academy of Pain Management, and the International Spine Intervention Society.


Dr. Marvin Tark of Pain Solutions Treatment Centers

Dr. Tark graduated with his medical degree from Louisiana State University and completed additional medical training at Emory University and the University of Southern California.

He is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management and has a specialty in anesthesiology and pain medicine.

His interests in research include new clinical drugs for chronic back pain, osteoarthritis, and headaches. He is a member of several professional associations, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, and the American Pain Society.

Dr. David Gale of Pain Solutions Treatment Centers

Dr. Gale graduated with a medical degree from Ohio State University and completed his residency and fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center and the University of Texas-San Antonio respectively.

He is board certified in anesthesiology by the American Board of Pain Medicine with a subspecialty in pain management. He is a member of several professional associations, including the International Spine Intervention Society and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management.

His main focus includes chronic back pain and neuropathic, or nerve pain. He is passionate about providing innovative, non-surgical relief for his patients.

Dr. Virlyn Bishop of Pain Solutions Treatment Centers

After graduating from Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Bishop completed his residency and fellowship at Emory University. He is board certified in anesthesiology.

His professional affiliations include the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Spine Injection Society and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.
