Drs. Karen Greene, Deanna Guthrie, and Mironda Williams of Rosa Gynecology join The Weekly Check-Up on November 3, 2024.

Karen T. Greene, MD

Karen T. Greene is a native of New York who joined our practice in 1996. She received her undergrad and medical degrees from Duke University and then went on to complete her residency at the Medical College of Georgia. After being in the south for 12 years, she is a Yankee transplant who was voted Intern of the Year by the faculty and senior residents at MCG. Dr. Greene continues to bring that energetic spirit to Rosa Gynecology. She is committed to her family as a wife and mother of two active boys but manages to also participate in the community with presentations on the latest women’s health topics to local civic groups.

Many of her patients are young teens whom she counsels as they transition into young adults. Dr. Greene strongly believes there is a need to support these young ladies and to provide information about the physical and emotional changes they will face as their bodies grow and develop during their teenage years.

As a mom herself, she realizes the gynecologic health challenges women must face during their 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and as they approach menopause. She also offers hormonal therapy and support during menopause.

Advancing her considerable surgical skills is always on the forefront for Dr. Greene. She is a proficient surgeon in laparoscopy, operative hysteroscopy, urogynecological procedures and the daVinci Robot. Dr. Greene recognizes the need for advanced minimally invasive procedures that have a faster recovery and will allow today’s busy women to return to their careers and family in a shorter amount of time. Her recent continuing Medical Education: Advanced Laparoscopic Gynecological Surgery-A Hands on Course; OBNET Clinical and Risk Management Workshop.

Deanna E. Guthrie, MD

Deanna E. Guthrie joined our practice in 1994. She received her medical degree and completed her residency at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. It was there that she made professional associations that carried through to her private practice goals. Dr. Guthrie has a special interest in laparoscopic surgery and urogynecology and has received recognition from the American Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.

Most recently she received specialized training and is adept in daVinci Robotic gynecological procedures. Because of her growing expertise with this advanced technique she is often sought out as a mentor for other surgeons.

As an OB/GYN she finds the most gratifying moments of her practice range from helping an infertile couple to become pregnant to managing issues of perimenopause, urinary leakage and pelvic prolapse. She also performs in-office surgical procedures to include diagnostic hysteroscopy, Novasure ablation and Essure tubal ligations.

Dr. Guthrie believes in offering total healthcare to women of all ages from teens to eighty plus. She looks forward to providing and encouraging long-term patient – physician relationships. Recent Continuing Medical Education: Advances in Bariatric Medicine/Bariatric Medicine Board Review Course; Advanced Techniques in Endoscopic and Robotic Gynecologic Surgery.

Dr. Williams looks at health from the standpoint of the women’s overall well-being and has a special sensitivity for searching out the root causes for disease, be they environmental, physical or lifestyle in origin. Her surgical interests led her to become skilled in advanced surgical techniques utilizing the daVinci Robot and other minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Through her civic and community involvement, Dr. Williams has developed a keen interest and commitment to engage and empower youth and young adults. Teen health education and care is one of her primary pursuits along with complementary and alternative medicine in the care of women of all ages.
