Gregory Woods of Northeast Georgia Health System
On June 20, Dr. Gregory Woods of Northeast Georgia Physicians Group joins us to discuss sports medicine.
Dr. Gregory Woods is a surgeon with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine. A native of Ottawa, Kansas, Dr. Woods has been practicing medicine since 1989.
Dr. Woods describes his philosophy of care as “a team-based approach to care with a patient-centered focus using up-to-date treatments and common sense care in an evidence-based cost-sensitive approach.”
Dr. Woods’ interest in sports medicine stems from a life-long involvement in sports. He played football at the University of Kansas and served as a coach for local teams. He was director for High Plains Sports Medicine and directed treatment for area high school teams. He was team physician for Fort Hays State University and has served as a volunteer on-site physician for the Shriners Football Camp and the State High School Wrestling Tournament. He was in the inaugural class of recipients of the Kansas Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame award. He has served as the Medical Director for Reid Sports medicine in Richmond, Indiana. This program cared for 12 high schools and two colleges including Earlham University and Indiana University-East.
In his free time, Dr. Woods enjoys motorcycling, hunting, computers, sports and weightlifting.
