Dr. Froylan Gonzalez of Georgia Urology
On May 12, we’re joined by Dr. Froylan Gonzalez of Georgia Urology for a discussion on robotic surgery and urologic cancers.
Froylan Gonzalez, M.D. earned his B.A. with honors from Williams College. He then graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health, where he was student council president for one year, class president for three years, and a service award recipient. He completed his residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital – Washington University Medical Center in Saint Louis, MO, where he was the Abrams Award recipient for Highest In-service Exam Score 2006. He then served as clinical instructor of the Division of Urology at Washington University from 2006 to 2008 with a clinical specialty in laparoscopic surgery.
Dr. Gonzalez also has additional postgraduate training in both laser and robotic surgery, his areas of expertise.
He performs robotic surgery at the Northside Cherokee, Northside Main Campus, and Kennestone locations.
Dr. Gonzalez is a member of the American Medical Association and the southeast section of the American Urological Association.
Dr. Gonzalez, a native of Columbus, Ohio, where he played varsity football and lacrosse and was an academic all-region linebacker in 1995 while attending college. Continuing this athletic tradition today, he enjoys tennis, lacrosse, biking, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
