Dr. Mindy Gentry of Wellstar

Dr. Mindy Gentry of Wellstar Health System joins us on February 8 to discuss heart health, including cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.

Dr. Mindy Gentry is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography. After graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology, she earned her medical degree in 2000 from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Dr. Gentry remained in Augusta to complete her residency and cardiovascular disease fellowship, where she was selected to serve as both chief medical resident and chief cardiology fellow.

In 2007, she became an assistant professor of medicine and the medical director for both the Women’s Cardiovascular Disease program and the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at the Medical College of Georgia. Her special interests include cardiac imaging, women and heart disease, and heart disease during pregnancy.

Dr. Gentry joined Wellstar in October 2010 and is currently on staff at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. She is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Gentry is married and the proud parent of three daughters. Her hobbies include traveling, exercising and playing golf.
