Mudassar Ahmed, MD of Georgia Heart Institute
This week, on November 2 we are joined by Mudassar Ahmed, MD, Chief of Cardiology at Georgia Heart Institute.
Mudassar Ahmed, MD, MBA, is an interventional cardiologist and Chief of Cardiology at Georgia Heart Institute. Before joining NGHS, he served as medical director for the cardiovascular service line at North Memorial Health System in suburban Minneapolis.
Dr. Ahmed has performed thousands of cardiac procedures. His practice includes performing minimally invasive cather-based procedures for treating blocked coronary arteries and leaky or narrowed heart valves, as well as implanting devices to reduce stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation. He has also been as a coach and mentor to other physicians, including serving as an international physician proctor for complex and advanced cardiovascular procedures.
On a personal level, Dr. Ahmed enjoys travel, astronomy, reading, music and spending time with family.
