Dr. Daniel Fortes is a board-certified thoracic surgeon at Wellstar Health System with extensive training and experience in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of conditions affecting the lungs, esophagus, and chest.
He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, followed by General Surgery residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. He completed advanced fellowship training in Thoracic Surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, where he refined his expertise in Thoracic Oncology and minimally invasive thoracic procedures.
Dr. Fortes is certified by the American Board of Surgery, American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is affiliated with multiple hospitals across the Wellstar Health System.
