Fritz Jean-Pierre, MD of Wellstar Health System

On December 7 we’re joined by Fritz Jean-Pierre, MD of Wellstar Health System.

Dr. Fritz Jean-Pierre is the Medical Director of Comprehensive Bariatric Services at Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center (KRMC) in Marietta, GA. A highly skilled bariatric surgeon, Dr. Jean-Pierre specializes in the latest minimally invasive techniques and has performed thousands of laparoscopic and robotic procedures for the treatment of morbid obesity and metabolic disorders.

Recognized as a key opinion leader in robotic bariatric surgery, Dr. Jean-Pierre is frequently invited to teach and mentor fellow surgeons across the country. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Mount Sinai Hospital and further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery, with a focus on bariatric surgery, at the Morehouse School of Medicine.

Dr. Jean-Pierre is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. He is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Dr. Jean-Pierre’s leadership extends beyond clinical practice; he previously served as Co-Chair and Chair of the Department of Surgery at KRMC, and continues to hold several key leadership positions at the institution.
