Dr. Veerappan Subramaniyam of Georgia Heart Institute
Dr. Veerappan Subramaniyam of Georgia Heart Institute joins us on April 10, 2022.
Veerappan Subramaniyam, MD, is a Non-Invasive Cardiologist at Georgia Heart Institute, the heart and vascular program at Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS). He is commonly referred to as “Dr. Ramesh” by his patients. He is also involved with the Prevention Center and is a Core Faculty member of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Georgia Heart Institute. Prior to joining NGHS, he was the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Huntsville Hospital Health System in Huntsville, Alabama. Additionally, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UAB–Huntsville.
Dr. Ramesh’s clinical interests include general cardiology, preventative care, culinary medicine, and cardiac imaging. He also participates in research and clinical trials. He has published research in several journals, including American Heart Journal, Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science, and Journal of Invasive Cardiology.
Dr. Ramesh is a graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and received his medical degree from New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. He continued his training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Cardiology. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac Computed Tomography. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
