Sean Berry and Karen Ridley of Florida Cancer Specialists
On June 19, we are joined by Sean Berry, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Supervisor of Behavioral Health, and Karen Ridley, Behavioral Health Therapist, of Florida Cancer Specialists. Together, they will discuss cancer survivorship, with a focus on behavioral health, in honor of National Cancer Survivor Month.
Sean Berry, Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Born and raised in Florida, Sean is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker has been practicing in the field of social work since 2012. He received his master’s degree from University of Maryland School of Social Work, and received training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Beginning in 2012, Sean worked primarily with the homeless population in Baltimore, MD, providing psychotherapy, and case management. He has had specific training in treating psychological trauma, anxiety, issues of adjustment and depression. Sean is a member of the Florida Cancer Specialists team and available for appointments.
Karen Ridley, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Karen Ridley is experienced in providing supportive care for anxiety and depression, adjustment issues, psychological trauma, and grief and loss, and is available for FCS patients who are interested in therapy during any phase of treatment.
Karen earned her master’s degree in social work from the University of South Florida. Her clinical experience began in outpatient substance abuse and mental health settings, and she has since worked in home health care, hospice and private practice.
She is credentialed as an advanced certified hospice & palliative care social worker (ACHP-SW) and is trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers.
Raised in the Midwest, Karen relocated to Florida in 2006. She is also a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher.
