On June 14, host Dr. Bruce Feinberg is joined by Dr. Chad Cooper and Dr. Ronald Lewis of the Hernia Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) to discuss hernias.

Chad M. Copper, MD, FACS

Chad M. Copper, MD, FACS, is a general/robotic surgeon and co-director of the Hernia Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC).

Dr. Copper began practicing medicine in 2000 and joined NGMC’s medical staff in 2005. He is a partner at Longstreet Clinic, a multispecialty clinic in Gainesville, Ga., with over 200 providers in 18 medical and surgical specialties.

Dr. Copper has performed more than 2,500 minimally invasive hernia repair surgeries and was recently recognized by Surgical Review Corporation, an internationally recognized patient safety organization, as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and Hernia Surgery.

Dr. Copper earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tenn.

Dr. Copper is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Georgia Surgical Society, Society of the American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative.

Ronald C. Lewis, MD, FACS

Ronald C. Lewis, MD, FACS, is a general/robotic surgeon and co-director of the Hernia Center of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC).

A native of Atlanta, Dr. Lewis began practicing medicine in 1996 and joined NGMC’s medical staff in 2001. He works in Gainesville, Ga., with Northeast Georgia Physicians Group, a multispecialty group affiliated with Northeast Georgia Health System.

Dr. Lewis has performed over 2,000 minimally invasive hernia repair surgeries and was recently recognized by Surgical Review Corporation, an internationally recognized patient safety organization, as a Surgeon of Excellence in Robotic Surgery and Hernia Surgery.

Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed his surgical residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Ariz.

Dr. Lewis is Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. His memberships include the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Americas Hernia Society. Dr. Lewis also actively participates in the Americas Hernia Society Quality Collaborative.
