This week, we’re joined by Dr. Candace White of Lithonia Primary Care, a DeKalb Medical Physicians Group, for a discussion regarding heart disease and hypertension.

Dr. Candace White received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology Pre-med, with a minor in Chemistry, from Florida A&M University; her Master’s of Medical Sciences at Indiana University School of Medicine; her Master’s of Public Health and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine both from Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Broward Health Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Dr. White is a current professional member of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), and the Family Osteopathic Medical Association (FOMA).
Dr. White’s special medical interests include women’s health, preventative health and functional medicine. She also has a strong interest in public health, health disparities and racial inequalities. She continues to serve her community and speak at a variety of events on health topics such as childhood obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, colon cancer prevention and various other topics. Her goal is to empower and enlighten her patients through the promotion of public health, disease prevention, living healthier lifestyles and raising awareness.
Dr. White enjoys medical mission work and serving as a mentor to other aspiring physicians. She is a past track athlete who enjoys running, fitness and outdoor activities. Dr. White believes that the mind, body and spirit are all connected and to achieve balance between the three you must think positively, live moderately and nurture the soul.
