It’s the Little Things
Did you know that overweight or obese women who lose 22 lbs or more and maintain weight loss have a 40% reduction in the risk of breast cancer?
Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the best ways to reduce your cancer risk. I like to remind my patients that losing weight doesn’t have to be about a crazy crash diet. The most effective way to lose weight and maintain the weight loss is by making small lifestyle and diet adjustments that have a large impact over time.
One tip that’s easy to follow regards dining out. It’s not as hard to plan healthy meals at home, but what about when you have to eat on the run or are traveling? You know the scenario – you’re out with friends and have to make a hasty decision when the server comes around. You feel like you’ve lost control of your diet.
My advice is to know the menu beforehand. Look up lighter dishes online before you dine out, and you’ll relieve yourself of a lot of guilt and anxiety.
Do you have any tried and true tips for keeping a healthy diet?
Be well,
